Positive Thermal Coefficient devices(PTC), also called PPTC resettable fuses, PolySwitch, polymer positive temperature thermistor, self recovery fuse, provide over-current protection for electrical and electronic devices. They function using conducting strips of metal imbedded inside polymers. Under normal conditions, the devices resistance is near zero, but over-current conditions will heat the PTC and expand the polymer, increasing the impedance. When current returns to normal, the components cool down, returning to their original shape and very low levels of resistance.

Description

The DIP Positive Thermal Coefficent PPTC Resettable Fuse RL06 Series, also called self-recoverable fuse, is an overcurrent protection device, which is processed by a special process by using high-temperature organic polymers under high-pressure and high-temperature conditions, doped with conductive particles. It has an automatic recovery function: it presents a high-resistance state when over-current occurs, and can return to normal from a high-resistance state after the over-current subsides, voltage: 6V, can withstand surge energy of 0.3 ~ 2.5A.
